3 Tips On How to Avoid Affiliate Marketing Scams!

The question is often asked by many people, especially the new beginners interested in Affiliate Marketing...IS AFFILIATE MARKETING A SCAM?
This is especially true when we stumble across two-tiered programs, or what can be perceived to be multi-level marketing plans, which means the affiliate is able to earn off the affiliate that brings them into the program.
Quite often, this is associated with these dreaded words 'pyramid schemes', which I am happy to say is against the laws of many countries around the world!
And the million dollar question is...how do you know whether an affiliate marketing offer is a scam or is it legitimate? There are few things that can quickly help you identify a scam from a legitimate affiliate marketing offer.
There Are No Costs Associated With Affiliate Programs
It should not cost you anything to join an affiliate marketing program. The only way you're ever going to make any money is if & when you make a sale. Even with two-tiered programs, you will only be paid a commission when the affiliate under you makes a sale.
There are no fees when an affiliate program is legitimate. You will often come across an offer claiming to be an affiliate program, but often they charge setup fees or they are offering to sell you a site to market the product. Walk away from these type of affiliate programs...they are no good!
Over the past 4 years, as I am sure a lot of you have experienced as well, somehow our email addresses end up in the most unlikely hands! Who knows how it happens, but it does! Once I realized what was going on, I started creating folders in my email system and keeping all the emails I received for every offer I received to 'buy something'!
By doing this, over time, I was able to build a picture of exactly who was legitimate and who was not! I was able to quickly cull the 'fly by nighters' and their ridiculous offers of becoming a gazillionaire overnight with their 'whizz bang' product. They are still out there and you have to be VERY CAREFUL!
Offers Of Huge Returns Overnight...With No Work To Do?
If like me, you have been sucked into the outrageous notion in the past of vast riches overnight without having to work for it, then all I can say is, I know how you feel! When I think about it now, I can't believe how I was conned so many times...like a sheep being herded for the slaughter just about each & every time!
We all have the dream when starting out in the internet & affiliate marketing world, hoping we can find a niche and a product which might eventually produce a passive income, which will lead us to a lifestyle we all want to enjoy!
It is for these very reasons there are so many sharks out there preying on our dreams! They all know what we want, so they will say just about anything to make you believe they can give you that dream really quickly...without having to work for it? Really??
We get scammed into buying tools, information products, e-books and the list goes on as I'm sure you already know. You get to buy all this stuff...make thousands in days or weeks without having to do an honest day's work! If you haven't worked it out yet...
TURN UP THE VOLUME ON YOUR WARNING BELLS!
There is no magic bullet out there and never will be!
I still find myself sometimes getting sucked in with all the 'puffery' that hits my inbox, the lure of the new shiny object...I give myself a quick slap and delete the email as fast as I can! Just remember...if it sounds too good to be true...it probably is!
STOP BUYING STUFF YOU DON'T NEED!

Watch out for these types of claims...
* Promises of large amounts of money without hard work...
* Pictures of expensive looking homes, luxury cars, and crazy lifestyles...
* Pictures of checks for thousands or PayPal accounts stuffed with dollars...
* It's a foolproof system...
And there are many more hooks to lure you in!
With hard work and time, there is the chance you can earn a significant income through affiliate marketing. You can also build yourself a long-term income stream that will provide the income you need, not just for today, but well into the future as well!
The best way to avoid scams...ignore the hype! Use your common sense and you won't go wrong.
Anyone can make a successful career out of affiliate marketing. You can find amazing success with the right affiliate program. You just need to have realistic expectations and achievable goals. If you follow some of the suggestions I have outlined you will avoid a lot of disappointment and SAVE A LOT OF MONEY!
