Understanding traffic in search engines

Before earning real passive income as a full-time affiliate marketer, one has to pass the test of the traffic. It is certainly one of the most important step in attracting more and more visitors to visit your site.

One can achieve this in various ways,for instance, social media marketing, email marketing or even organic search from Google, Yahoo, Bing etc.

To understand the concept of traffic, I have come up with an analogy.

There is a saying” Website Traffic is Like a Mountain, Stream and River“.

Basically, traffic starts with a mountain. Snow melts when spring time arrives and water trickles down the mountain, just like traffic truly starts as a trickle with your business.

Instinctively, it is understandable that we craved to get “more traffic fast” , but the reality is that when one lays out the initial framework of the website and start to get indexed and ranked in search engines, you can turn out to be just expecting a mere trickle.

This trickle should be exciting  as the it would increase exponentially with time.With the content and when it starts to connect with one another, forming something would be much more substantial.

3 main things to take note of

1.The first few months are just the period of building your content and structure.To experience a flow of traffic, one has to try out things(the trickle) to see if it works.

2.It is easier to write more new topical articles rather than to attempt to make ONE perfect. Besides, when you have a greater range of content out there, you are more likely to get indexed under many more keywords and subsequently get more traffic.

3.Not all keyword you are aiming for will rank. There are only some search engines(Google, Yahoo,Bing) on the Internet and there are lots of people vying for the top position for their sites to get more popularity. This is a reality that all successful marketers who tap on the SEO have to tackle with. Although sometimes you think you may have come up with a perfect page/post, Google can think oppositely.

This is one of the analogy that I had come up with to wrap up the whole idea on the process of getting traffic. To become a successful online entrepreneur, traffic is one of the main concern as those real visitors are your clients.
